Your AI agent gets a real shell
Turn on the MCP server and Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client drives the sessions you already have open — the same tabs, the same working directories, the same SFTP — instead of a throwaway shell of its own.
- Loopback only. The bind address is clamped to 127.0.0.1 / ::1 in code; no setting can put it on the network.
- Token-protected. Every request carries a bearer token you can reset at any time.
- Asks before it writes. Reads run automatically; writes, deletes and anything unverifiable stop for your confirmation.
- Keeps out of your way. Terminal input locks while the agent is operating a session, so you and it never fight over the keyboard.

Command Assist turns plain language into the shell command, powered by Apple Foundation Models, a local model that never leaves your Mac, or your own API key. Pick the on-device route and the prompt — and whatever terminal context goes with it — never leaves the machine. Nothing is sent anywhere until you open the bubble and ask.
Files without leaving the session
A window-level SFTP browser beside the terminal — not in another app, and not a second connection you have to babysit.
Press space to preview. Remote feels local.
- Quick Look, on a file that isn't there. Select anything in the browser and hit space — the real macOS previewer opens it, no download step you have to think about.
- Edit locally. Open a remote file in your own editor; every save goes back up.
- Follows your shell. The browser can track the working directory as you cd around.
- Drag and drop in either direction, with a real transfer queue behind it.
- rz / sz over ZModem for the boxes that only speak that.
Tunnels, made ordinary
Pick a kind, point it at a host, and switch it on. Every forward lives in one panel with its own toggle — no flags to remember, nothing to leave running in another window.
- Local -L — reach an internal service as if it ran on your Mac.
- Remote -R — publish something on your Mac back to the far side.
- Dynamic -D — a SOCKS5 proxy the whole system can borrow.
- Or just say it. Describe the tunnel in plain English and MagicTunnel fills in the form.
- Jump chains through bastion hosts, plus SOCKS and HTTP proxies, configured per host.
